Coachella rocked this weekend! There were many many many amazing rock/indie/weird artists and bands playing for three days. The Strokes, PJ Harvey, Duran Duran, Trentemoller, Warpaint... and etc, etc, etc.
For those who couldn't go at California, the Youtube provided us (at Coachella's channel) three channels to follow Coachella alive! I met great bands in there: Gogol Bordello, Big Audio Dynamite, The New Pornographers and Elbow.
This chubby guy, Guy Garvey, has a powerful voice! He enchanted me! Elbow's songs have a lot of romantic groove mixed with a high-end rock beat! And guess what?! He whistled! The whole audience went into frenzy. For sure! I'm looking for the Coachella's video to put here.

I found on Elbow.HeavenForum.com an interview to Q Magazine about Elbow's 2011 album, Build a Rocket Boys!, released in March, and I'll transcribe here the fragment that interests us:
"Ideas of friendship, community and teenage years began to colour the 30 odd tracks in consideration. Key song Lippy Kids is written in defence of the British teenager. It's what Garvey describes as 'the anti-hoody shit that goes on in the media, the thought that if you hang around on a street comer you're a criminal'."
Below a live performance at Blueprint Studios. ;)

Lippy kids on the corner again
Lippy kids on the corner begin
Settling like crows
And I never perfected that simian stroll
The cigarettes and it was everything then
Do they know those days are golden?
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!
One more tune
I came down from the trees
Curbstone cool
You are freshly painted angel
Walking on walls
Stealing booze and down long hungry kisses
And Nobody knew me at home any more
Build a rocket boys!
Build a rocket boys
Build a rocket boys!
Lippy kids on the corner again

Settling like crows
And I never affected that simian stroll
No

Stealing booze and down long hungry kisses

P.S. I spent a long time saying that the band ENCORE was going to play... hahaha... "Oh! But this ENCORE again?!" LOL
